The New Challengers

Welcome to HGC4. The HGC Series is a gathering of friends that come together to talk, watch, and play the game that we all love… Street Fighter. Whether you’re new to the game or a hardcore veteran, there’s great friendly competition for you here. And it’s all completely free of charge. You don’t even have to play Street Fighter to attend HGC, spectators are always welcome. Join us and see what HGC is all about!

HGC4: The New Challengers has been scheduled for Sunday July 5, 2009 at 2:00PM. The event will start with round-robin seeding followed by a double-elimination tournament to decide the HGC4 champion.

Points will be awarded to players in the double-elimination tournament in the following manner:
+100 points per Winner’s Bracket game win.
+50 points for a Loser’s Bracket game win.
+200 points for 1st Place
+100 points for 2nd Place
+50 points for 3rd Place.
+100 points for a Winner’s Bracket bye.
+0 points for a Loser’s Bracket bye.
+100 points for tournament attendance.

The round-robin will be scheduled using 4 Stations, each Station running SF4 for PS3. The Stations will be labeled A through D. Each Station will include two standard PS3 controllers for players to use. You are welcome to bring your own PS3 compatible controller if a regular PS3 pad is not to your liking. Each round-robin match will be 1 game, best 2/3 rounds.

Following the round-robin there will be a 1 hour break for food, drinks, and socializing. The Stations will be available for casual play.

After the break, we will be starting the double-elimination tournament. At this point, 2 Stations will be unavailable for casual play, as they will be used for tournament play. Tournament matches will consist of best 2/3 games, each game being best 2/3 rounds. The winner of the double-elimination tournament will be the HGC4 champion.
